Hi George
That had had to be about 10 to 12 years ago when I entered that into the
contest.

I'm glad that it has started up some more interest in working on some of the
HBR receivers again
that are setting around and gathering dust.

Gerald,

That's a real fine job you did on your winning entry at the Charlotte CC-AWA
contest, linked below! (When was that?)

All this talk here recently has motivated be to get going to complete my own
HBR-16. Love it!

73, George N2APB

I have a digital copy of Jay Helms W6HHT book called "Recollections of a
Receiver" which covers the history of the HBR starting with W6TC's article
in 1957 QST titled the HBR-14. Before offering this copy I wanted to
contact W6HHT to ensure it is okay.. I collaborated with him through 2009
when he created the CD and sold it to HBR enthusiasts. Jay would be 94
years old now but has gone under the radar since 2009. The file is about
250MB. I can't send it over my slow internet connection. If Jay is no
longer with us, I will feel free to share this copy with HBR enthusiasts.
