[HBR] W6HHT Recollections of a Radio Receiver

A little history of this book on the HBR story.  Jay W6HHT collaborated with Ted W6TC about the construction of his own HBR.  There was a 33 year difference in age.  Ted passed away at age 73.  Jay had communicated with him for about 10 years as far as I can determine before Ted passed.  There was another operative in the HBR story.  Alex Stewart K4FX was an HBR enthusiast and collaborated frequently with Ted.  The book covers much of this history.  Alex developed the HBR-13C.  Jay was out of the hobby for about 35 years.  When he got back into the hobby he decided to write a book about the HBR history.  Lee WB6SSW and I were fortunate enough to work with Jay doing the grunt stuff to make this work.  Jay would send me a finished chapter which I read through and made notes for him to consider revising.  Lee may have also been involved in that pursuit.  Lee was the one who made the CD's and cover package for Jay to sell.  He finished the book in 2009 (age 78) and marketed the CD's at cost ($12 as I recall).  I lost track of Jay after 2009.  Lee kept in contact for awhile after that.  Jay was still alive in 2018 but efforts to contact him have been unproductive.  He would be 94 years old.  The ebook was an amazing work of love.  Jay worked on it for six years.  I am fortunate enough to have a digital copy.  Lee would have had the copyright when Jay left us.  Lee has been gracious in offering this book free to all the HBR enthusiasts.  That's the rest of the story.
 One more thing.  Accolades to Kees K5BCQ for keeping the HBR story alive.  It was Jay's hope that the HBR would not die. Kurt W6PH
