Good to see that there is still interest in the HBR. Unfortunately parts are now obtainium but there are still junk boxes full of goodies if you can ferret them out. The IF cans and BFO can from the BC-453 are still out there. The three gang variable capacitor is tough to find but a two gang 365 pfd are around. Just use a separate variable to peak the RF section of the HBR. The original HBR used a homebrew first conversion IF coil. John K5MO will be getting all the documentation. Hopefully he can sift through it and find interesting stories. Ted Crosby's first HBR was in a 1957 QST. There were a number of iterations and some of the documents explain the changes. He collaborated with Alex Stewart. Ted was a chain smoker and got lung cancer. He passed away in 1971. Hopefully we can keep this saga alive for a few more years. Kurt W6PH
