[HBR] CB radios for parts?

Hello All,

 

Has anyone used an old tube type CB radio as source for parts? I read
somewhere that their first IF transformer is typically around 1650 KHz.
There is a ton of them on ebay for quite low prices. 

 

Normally I can't bring myself to cannibalize a restorable piece of gear for
parts, but a CB radio, well.that seems to fall below the line (;->).
