The Morris is a great winder for multi turn coils that require a large
number of windings such as 800-900 turns for a typical IF or oscillator
coil.
Different cam shaft drivers for the Morris can be made out of 1/4 inch
couplings soldered onto "fender" washers, the large fender washers can
be easily shaped with a file. I use watered down Elmers white glue to
help the windings stick. Double stick tape helps hold down the initial
windings.
I've been looking into finding a source of gears with a ratio of 42-44
for a homebrew gear driven winder copied after the Morris drive system.
