[HBR] Super Gainer and RAL

Hello Ron,

Thanks very much for the thoughtful reply on AM reception with the Super
Gainer.

Bill Cromwell, over on the regenerx list, uses an RAL as his ham station
receiver. It's the Navy regen from WWII, with a couple of RF stages, and
built mechanically like the battleships that it was used on. When he posts
about it, I get to wondering if it might be possible to make a modern day
equivalent as a homebrew project.

If a regen could be built with adequate performance for use on the air as
the station receiver, it would get around the problems of finding I.F.
transformers, and coping with images and birdies. Any thoughts? I'm still
looking for a receiver project that is reasonable enough that I could
actually finish and use it (;->)...

Cheers,

Brian
