[HBR] Coil Q and the Boonton 260

 If you can find one, I'd highly recommend the AADE Mark IIB L/C meter.  I have a ESI 250-DA Impedance Bridge that I've used for years for measuring capacitance and inductance.  A couple years ago I got talked into buying the Mark IIB, even though the ESI served me quite well.  I haven't used the ESI since.  The Almost All Digital meter is about as accurate and a whole heck of a lot quicker to use.

So come on guys! Help me buy myself a Christmas present! A bag of parts
doesn't count---it has to be wrapped and put under the tree as a "thing". My
XYL isn't going to know what it's for, in any case, but it needs to be
recognizable as a "thing". 

I'm a sucker for test equipment, and would buy one of AADE's Mark IIB L/C
meters, but he is closed up with some sort of serious illness. Anybody got
one to sell?

I looked up the specs on the QM-1, and it does have a 2X scale. I don't
suppose it's very likely that we will be winding coils with Q's much higher
than 250 anyway. 

In my Spanish guitar making, I test Q's of wood parts at audio frequencies,
as a measure of their damping properties. So many things affect these
numbers that I only use them as comparative quality measurements. I would
imagine that the same would apply to electronic components.
