[HBR] Regenerodyne experience?

Hello All,
In looking for a simple ham station receiver design, I keep coming back to the Gary WD4NKA "Regenerodyne". I'm wondering if anyone on the HBR list has had any experience using one of these as the station receiver. It really does get around the problem of finding I.F. transformers!
