[HBR] Drilling templates for the HBR 16

Hello James and welcome to the group.
I have been trying to get an HBR 16 off the ground for quite awhile. Right now I can't get the first mixer to reliably output a 100 KHz signal from the 1600 KHz T1 and the 1700 KHz xtal oscillator. The gimmick capacitor between the 1700 KHz oscillator and the mixer input just won't work. I was very fortunate a while back to receive a whole slew of information and an HBR layout from Lee Craner who is on the list and I think is mentioned on the HBR website. It would be a week or so, but I could duplicate what he has sent me if you would like.
Also, it would be great if the HBR 13 template could be made available.
There is so much variability in layout that a template may not be all that helpful, however. If you do not have any expected access to the Eddystone dial much of the layout issue goes away. The size of the dial often mandated placement of the chassis components and through panel knobs.
I think I would make up my own layout sketched out on large white sheets of butcher paper and dry fit everything from that into quarter inch thick carboard or foamcore first. Punching aluminum should be the last thing, especially the front panel. I say this because I have built my rig on a series of fabricated 3 inch by 4 or 5 inch separate chasses. Each requires its own power supply, ground and filament leads to a molex plug plus whatever is needed to interconnect - AVC, T2 plate to 1st mixer plate, etc. At this point I don't think this is such a good idea of modularization.
If I can get past the 1st mixer I should be ok since the downstream items, especially the audio amp seem to be working ok.

Your HBR group looks most interesting, and if enough information is
available, I thought this might be a good candidate for my very last
receiver. As in any undertaking, one has to start from the foundation and
go from there. So I'm wondering where or from whom I might be able to
obtain the chassis and panel templates mentioned on your webpage.
Incidentally, there might be some problem on the registration page...I
can't get it to accept any input..I would like to join up.
Best regards,
James A. Lee KF6K
