Steve,

The article was basically a "how to make the SX140 perform like the Heath,
as the author clearly thought the Heath was a better design.

Walt KJ4KV has already accomplished what you are contemplating, so take
your lead from him (I see he has weighed in).

I am a big fan of large chassis as you can see from my HBR-16 (under the
Projects tab at _www.emmittsfixitshop.com_ (http://www.emmittsfixitshop.com)
), so the larger Heath chassis will definitely be an advantage.

Ironically, the SX140 and its companion xmtr are what got me involved in
ham radio. Sears sold the kits in their catalog back about 1960 and I got
hooked on their promise of "talking to the world." By the time I got my
ticket, Sears stopped selling them and I ended up with a Knight R-55 instead.

Thanks Lee

I no longer get Electric Radio, so am unable to chase it down. What is
the summary of the article?
