Hi Bry,

Well ya know..that wire was a pigtail on a resistor that broke off at
the body of the resistor. With that one I learned more about stress
relief to prevent that from happening any more. It might have been a
manufacturing defect.

That 25 pound transformer didn't hum or buzz or warm up or anything. It
just melted the 6146 and *fast*. I still have that power supply and I
set my beer on it to keep the beer cold. Okay...so it's a couple days
*after* April 1. BTW..there is also another fuse!
