An old trick from the Navy is to take a tiny drop of liquid soap - rub it all over the plastic face (edges too), the polish it off with a clean skivvy shirt (T-shirt to you civilians). The soap reduces the surface tension, and eliminates static effects - it may not fix the meter, but it's one less condition you must deal with. TC
