I picked up a HBR this week . IT has writing on the chasis QST 1957, I think the first article. It appears to be loosely based on the article. . .   It has the 80 meter coils but converts down to 5 stages of crystal filtering using the military crystals of 465 khz.  It is dirty and not sure its worth the restore. 
Does anyone know anything that may reference this ?
