This is very kind but Ted had at least one thing I don't (yet) have:
The determination to pick one project and follow it through to
completion. I tend to have whatever is the ham constructor equivalent
of eyes bigger than stomach: I take on things that I can't finish, let
alone reduce to something that could be duplicated.
Time is also an issue. I'm too old for full time crusades but I've got
one anyhow -- fighting the animal rights' movement effort to end pets
and all other uses of animals: research, meat, eggs, milk, circuses
and zoos, hunting ... Between that, breeding an occasional litter of
whippets, and the usual friction of life, the XYL and I sometimes go
for months with barely the time to watch a DVD.
However I am trying to finish a project that's close to the TC HBR
design: Plug in coils, 8 tubes, Eddystone dial.
I'm hoping to live long enough to overcome both this project and the
more general problem of 'nonfinishitus.'
Well, and pass on to the grandkids the right to eat meat and breed and
sell a few puppies if they wish.
Walt
