Funny you came up with that. One of the few dozen other people who
would agree (regarding me) is my wife. ;-)

You might very well be right; I didn't know the man and don't know any
factual reason to disagree. But since this list is centered on his
1960+/- designs and at least some of us are interested in vacuum tube
construction and design I purposely limited my original question to
vacuum tube answers.
