Now HERE'S a place to get HR-10 parts that you might want to go for:
Item title: unbuilt Heathkit HR-10B shortwave never assembled
Item URL:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290643970499
Buy It Now $900.00
Just kidding! And this isn't even an original never-assembled NIB kit: It
was apparently put together by the seller from two or more kits -- and
perhaps some parts extracted from an assembled set?
Consider this a humor item for the day. BUILT HR-10's go for $50-100
+$25-30 shipping even if working and the majority of the non-working and "I
don't know anything about this stuff" radios can be made to work, at least
well enough to confirm that all the parts needed for an HBR project are
okay.
I've been stalled on HB-10 to HBR project as the result of (a) flu -- now
gone -- and (b) a dead car that needed fixing before hard winter -- still
dead, but maybe soon. But this project is looking good -- I think it's
going to be the easy way to get one's feet wet in the HBR game.
