In part:
>>KE9XQ found a cap that has three sections, and while I have not measured
it, because of pencil marking saying 140 on it, believe it to be 140
pf. While I can make it work VIA removing plates, or cap in series,
the plates are pretty close together. Which brings me to the next
question in my series of queries. What kind of voltages will this
circuit generate?
That 3 section cap is used in the grid circuits of the oscillator, mixer,
and RF input. You shouldn't see excursions of voltages up to the line
voltage circuit you propose as a test bed. Maybe a max voltage of +/- 10 v
olts would be present but not the levels you think. In any event, good luck
and let us know what you think.
