OK Guys
I went back yesterday to the metal shop and bought a nice big
chunk of .050 Alunium : ) It will be easier to work with for sure,
and I can gusset it up if I ever think an area is a little flimsy.
The reason I wanted the heavier material was that I'm 3/4 of the way
through reading the book from the CD (which I love) and the idea of
mechanical stability has been addressed. I thought if I address the
subject aggressively there would be no question from that department.
Completely off topic tho is the fact I also bought a 24' 2/4
tubing for my hot rod. Been using the S10 frame, but think I'm going
to start a new one from the ground up. This will be a project that
will take a couple years, and am in no hurry to get it done, just
getting started on the frame has been in the back of my mind for
about 20 years now. But like I said off topic.
Think I will bring the nibbler with me to field day when or if
the time permits : ) to start cutting out that chassis outline before
the bending. Look for W9UP out there guys, Phil has graciously
allowed us to use his call again, Wisconsin's nine ugly puppies : )
Have fun
