Looking at a junkbox the other day it occurred to me that a ferri-loopstick BC radio antenna coil would make a fine 1st (~1600 kcs) IF coil for an HBR. PLENTY of Q ... You'd have to shield it and might want to adjust the frequency one way or the other to avoid strong BC stations, but the same would be true of any open coil. Walt KJ4KV
