Congratulations !! It is quite a feeling when an HBR comes to life. Still a good receiver. Try to imagine what it would have sounded like relative to other receivers back to the 60's.

Well, I've finished the fundamental wiring
for my HBR-11 tonight.
For the time being, I've left off the
S-meter circuit and the AVC/AGC control.
(I've wired the AVC as if
the switch is in the "off" position.) I'll finish those
later.
I fabricated "backwards" from power
supply/audio amp to front end, testing
and aligning each stage the
best I could as I wired.
I must admit, I "cheated"
just a bit .. I borrowed the hand-wound L1, L2, L3
coils from someone
else's set, but I'll be winding my own soon.
The receiver
worked as soon as I attached antenna, speaker, & AC power!
I've operated the receiver on 80m, using the product detector and
BFO. (I have
included the AM detector in the circuitry as
well).
This radio has real personality (if that's possible for
a radio). Sounds great!
I'll continue to align, etc. but
it's really working great just as it stands!
I had to share ..
very exciting :-)
