I thought of doing that but the Eddystone 898 dial that I'm using
comes with a pre-printed scale for each of the six bands -- it seems
to have been part of a kit of front end parts for a very conventional
British home brew receiver design: G3RWW maybe? (In the RSGB Radio
Communication Handbook, 4th edition.) The dial scales look good -- I
couldn't do them nearly as nicely, starting from scratch -- so I'm
pruning coils (etc.) to use those scales and the 40M band is 7.0-7.3
over roughly the same distance as 3.5-4.0.
