Actually, the acorn sockets were very tough, and HELD ON tightly. They were used in all sorts of BC goodies and were the ORIGINAL "UHF" tubes. An interesting article about a HB transmitter (using them) appeared in ELECTRIC RADIO a couple of months ago. Tom - WØEAJ
