Yep... I have an H-45/UR out in the shop... my Uncle* gave it to me when I
was a kid. It came off of USS SHANGRI LA, while she was operating off the
Korean coast in the mid 50's, during the war. Unfortunately, I don't have
the frame et. al... but hooked it up with a simple voltage divider and
capacitive output once, and it sounded pretty good.

I came across the BLACK mics quite often, while in the Navy. Those things
were TOUGH.... had to be to deal with some of the miscreants who used them!

I have a Canadian friend who sports a fully-restored Wireless Set No. 19,
and it's mic sounds delightful - you're spot on there.

*Uncle Bill (just lost him 2 years ago) was a Navy "AD"... Aviation
Machinst's Mate - THREE uncles did that, so it's no wonder I got interested
in stuff that made noise and flew. Two of 'em flew in PB4Y-2's, later
P2V-7's... so I got a "liberal education" before I raised my OWN hand.
Ironically, I'm the only nephew/grandkid to get a pilot's licence & ratings,
and I'm the only one in the group who was NOT an "airdale", rather a "black
shoe". They never let me forget it, either!

Tom

In the shop, on it's own shelf, is the BC-348/Q that came out of Bill's
PB4Y-1 "Liberator"... along with the trailing wire reel. Of course, it
still works.
