Several points have already arisen relative to launching "Recollections
of a Radio Receiver". This posting, hopefully, will address them.
1. The all-in cost to buyers in any/all of the 50 United States,
including 1st class postage charges, is exactly $10 no matter where you
are located. The shipping cost is constant since USPS 1st Class is
weight-sensitive only. For those ordering from other countries
(amateurs in Canada and the UK have both raised this issue), I have a
task of establishing trans-national postage charges, customs charges,
and how to convert payment in "coin of the realm" to the Yankee Dollar.
This is going to take me a while to figure out, and first I have to
resolve my present web hosting situation.
2. For those that apparently felt $10 was a bit excessive, the basis
for that cost is provided in paragraph 9 of Book Notes on my web page
www.w6hht.com. The price remains $10.
3. For those who do not have a printer, or a printer that does not
presently work, and hence cannot download/print/mail-return the
order-form, see paragraph 6 of Book Notes on my web page for an
alternative ordering method.
4. I do appreciate the efforts of those who, hoping to help me quantify
book inventory levels, indicated they were interested in purchasing a
book. However, to clarify my paleolithic cash-and-carry business
method, please understand that to convert your interest into an e-book,
you need to send me a book order plus $10. I will acknowledge by e-mail
receipt of your order, and advise where you are in the present "batch"
being accumulated. In a nutshell, I will hold the orders + payments
until I have 10 or more, then make a production run and ship on a
first-in/first-out basis. I will advise by e-mail (if you gave me
yours) the date I put your e-book into the mail. Further details are in
paragraph 5 of Book Notes on my web page.
I will address any future questions anyone may have either via my web
page, or directly via e-mail. My thanks to all for your interest.
