Thank you. I've practiced a lot on projects that failed!

The most advanced tooling is a small drill press, but most of the
holes were made with either a Skil electric drill with a 3/8" chuck or
a Stanley 'Handyman' hand drill from about 30 years ago. I have
Greenlee punches for the most common sizes of socket holes including
the 1" required for that meter. The speaker cut out and all the
rectangular holes were done with some combination of drilling a row of
holes, a Dremel with cutoff wheel, or a Sears electric saber saw
screwed to the middle of a sheet of plywood, blade up.
I actually like the little hand drill because you have such good control of
where that hole goes. But when drilling 100 holes in a row, an electric
motor is a great help!
It's about 20 hours of metalwork, and another 10 or so of design and
layout.
I'll start the wiring tonight. That will take considerably longer.

We'll be watching for it!
