[HBR] Fw: HBR-16 + RME 45...

Tom,

Thanks for the tip on the meter. I've been scouting ebay and found a couple that may have potential. As for progress, I'm just about to start. Will probably layout the holes on the chassis for mounting the power supply components. Because I'm working with a shell (and 'look-feel') of an RME 45, the positions of some things (like the main tuning cap) are already determined. So I need to sort out where all the other things will fall... The original RME 45 had the power supply on the opposite end of the chassis from the HBR 16, but that should really be a trivial thing. Still needs further investigation though. Because the tubes are minis rather than loctals, there hopefully will be more realestate available to play with (the chassis is similar dimension of that used in the original HBR-14).

Many being built, as we speak. For a meter, go look for some of the early
70's VU meters... they're the same movement and internal resistance (50mv
full-scale), and you get to home-brew your own scale that way.... or be
really cool, and mount an ordinary meter UPSIDE DOWN.

Keep us aprised on your progress.
