An idea:

Perhaps an old power transformer could be used. If we have, say, a 540 VCT
(270-0-270) secondary, the primary-to-secondary turns ratio is about 1 to 4.9.
Primary to half secondary is about 1 to 2.45.

Minor adjustments in ratio can be made by putting the filament windings in
series or parallel.

If the single-ended driver stage draws significant plate current, it may be
worthwhile to restack the laminations with an air gap rather than interleaved.

Of course even a small power transformer probably has a lot more iron and
copper than is needed, but that won't hurt anything.

Just an idea - I haven't tried it out.
