Hi Darrell and all,

I have been a ham for 35+ years. Built lots of antennas, keyers,
transmitters, small & medium sized amps, etc. I'm just recently getting into
building receivers and I totally "get" what you mean. While a homebuilt
transmitter is a joy to use, in a very real way the guy on the other end
gets more out of it than you do. With a receiver YOU get to hear what you
have built. YOU get to hear the modifications you make. I built my first ham
receiver, a Heath HR-10B. Went on to modify/improve it. Then there was a
long drought. Now I'm back at it!
I've got three regens in the works rights now. That's quite a bit when you
add that on to my restoration list. I hope to eventually build and HBR-xx
receiver, that's why I am a member of this list. Heat up that iron and snort
some rosin!

73,
