I just put a bid on that unit like I said, if for nothing else than to
find out just what it is. The "221 type" worm drive with capacitor was
also offered by Hammarlund in the 50s. I used one of the BC-221 drives on
my latest <regen> receiver and the tuning is very impressive, that is one
great dial drive mechanism. That and the Jackson Bros ball verniers
certainly put the other vernier drives to shame. But as far as "really
unique" none can hold a candle to the "bowl dial" of Jim, N2EY's,
receiver.

We've had a few more members join the reflector, possibly due to the HBR
discussion on "Glowbugs" and we're now up to 125.

About time for me to make a pass on the web site and add some more
pictures.

That brings up another point, I still have Norm Deemer's, WA5HPT, SSB
Transmitter built from a W5OMX? article in QST. I had thoughts of
rebuilding it since it's missing a few parts but haven't yet so I'll move
it on down the line. Norm originally sold it to me for postage so it
wouldn't be right to just sell it. Anyone interested for postage or swap
for something homebrew ? I can provide pictures, but it is missing a few
parts, it's still "barn fresh", and Norm kept the National dial.
