[HBR] HBR-??

Hey, gang . . .

The variable from the BC-453 is mounted, and I'm now scratching my head =
a little. As it was intended to work with an receiver covering roughly =
190-550kc it was thus set up to cover 275-635kc, assuming high-side =
injection. Therefore a VERY wide range. To do so in a linear fashion, =
the plate design was far from linear; much closer to straight-line =
wavelength than straight line frequency. Although I can use it to cover =
my range of 5050-5750 in a High-C circuit, the linearity goes in the =
sewer.

Solutions:

1. Live with it.
2. See if any of the folks on the list have a BC-454 or BC-455 tuning =
cap they'd be willing to swap or sell (Anybody building up a Q-Fiver??)

The cap is in good condx; I'll even through in another matching pair of =
gears which will give it an even slower tuning rate. A few marks on the =
spline where it's had a setscrew, but should be usabl for anyone wanting =
to use the original tuning adapter.

Any takers?

If not, anyone had any experience dismantling one of these assemblies, =
using a different variable mounted within, and using the same drive =
gearing?
