[HBR] A Question About Handbooks

The other night I got to looking at the Radio Amateur's Handbook.
In my collection, '69 is the last 'good' book, the next one that I have
is '72 and it marks the start (in my collection) of the beginning of
the current 'Revenge of the Nerds' books, tuned for engineers --
presumeably those without a normal collection of engineering
handbooks -- rather than hams.

First question -- what about the '70 and '71 books? Are they RON
books or do they continue the earlier tradition?

I notice that the '69 book lists Doug DeMaw, W1CER, as editor; '72
lists him with several others as an associate editor, one Douglas
Blakeslee, W1KLK, as editor.

Second question -- there has to be a story there. Does anyone
know what it is?
