Hi, all concerned:

Fwiw, have a look at how a 40-odd-year-old commercial design, the
Squires-Sanders SS1R, handled Walt's concerns.   Iirc, from using it at
W3GQF, it was a bit numb above 20M, but its front-end was virtually
unbreakable.
