Kees- I am interested in it, I guess if it has a bandswitch , that the coils

OK, Cliff's "homebrew receiver from the 1956 QST article swap for a NEW
Eddystone 898 dial" did not move so I discussed it with Cliff, removed
the existing Eddystone 898 dial and gave it back to him, and the radio
(without dial ....needs a good ACN or ICN dial as shown in the article)
is now available for $45 plus $35 shipping in the USA. Pictures available
on request (I need to retake them without the dial) and I can bring it to
Belton if you want to save shipping. Price drops $10 per week until it's
gone. Details are below....

It's from an article in the March 1956 QST (mine don't go back
that far). It is a double conversion 1600Khz IF and 85Khz IF, band
switching 80/40/20/15/10 receiver.

It has a cabinet with three large holes in the lid for ventilation and
the usual dust and dirt from storage.
The upper toggle switches and the knobs on the upper right and left are
bent and have slight front panel indentations (dropped at an angle ?).
It has NO tuning dial. Everything else is there, tubes, etc. Self
contained
power supply inside, requires external speaker. Construction looks OK,
not great, not bad. Looks like he used the internals and housing from a
TV tuner for the band switch which is from another QST
article in that time frame. Cliff has a letter from the original owner
with his schematic modifications and the first two pages of the
original article. I have not powered the unit on.
