[HBR] Anybody heard of the KCS Compactron?

The last two issues of "GE Ham News" ( 12-62  &  spring 63 ) contained =
the=20
"KCS COMPACTRON" receiver  parts one and two respectively. =20
The entire article would constitute 13 pages if scanned.
I snapped a couple of photos of the "block diagram" and posted them on

  In my version of Pat Hawker, G3VA's Amateur Radio Techniques, he makes =
reference to a receiver called the "KCS Compactron" by W7KCS/9. The =
front end is shown; a 6BZ6 followed by a triode mixer using two sections =
of a 6D10. Looks interesting - anybody know where this was originally =
published, have a complete schematic, or know anything about it?? =
