Decal printer paper is also available on the web; just hit Google with 
'decal paper printer' and follow the trail.   

The inks used in jet printers fade rather badly when exposed to even 
indirect sunlight, so unless you keep the windows covered, a panel 
done with inkjet decals may have a short life.   The black laser printer 
inks (toner) appears to be carbon-based and will last indefinitely.
