[HBR] Front Panel Lettering?

Niel,

Curious that you should ask! I'm sweating through the same problem/solution
on my HBR-16 at this time. The Dymo labels I've had in place since getting
the HBR functioning 33 years ago have outlived their usefulness...esp. in
light of my just designing/building/assembling/adding a new slide-rule dial
to replace the old tough-torque 180-degree National (MCN?).

I'm tinkering with trying a combination of Leroy lettering - in white paint
if I can make the Leroy pens handle it - and maybe try my hand at actually
engraving plastic labels. (Got a commercial quote of $250 for the engraving
which nixed the commercial solution.)

As for the dial, I've calibrated strips of paper for each band using a
0.7mm pencil - guiding on the edge of the slide rule pointer - and a friend
is attempting to scan in and enhance my crude lines and also do the
lettering. Just today he told me he's tinkering with it and is getting more
familiar with a new program to do so. But he hopes I'm not too impatient
for a quick turnaround!

73's,

John, K0YQX
