I hope so ...that (and building them from scratch today) was the idea
after 
talking to Lorne Barber and Bob Cole. The original thought was that we 
might find a dozen via the Internet and QST ads........at the very
outside.

Other homebrew radios (Darrell's 21 tube receiver is a good example, 
as are the HB 65/67 and DCS-500) are also satisfying to discover and 
bring back into the light, but the HBRs are so well known. I'd estimate 
80% of the people who have been hams for a number of years remember 
reading about or talking about an HBR Receiver, whether they built one 
or not. 

I also think people building a matching transmitter (SSB and/or CW),
as Lorne Barber is doing, is an excellent idea.

Just keep spreading the word ....there are more out there.
