[HBR] HBR Dials...

That's the one that was shipped from Oz. I think I paid "only" about $45 US
but I think I paid almost $30 for shipping from there. I do plan to use it,
but
I've not determined whether it's to be an HBR or another RX. It's too good
to languish in a box!
A local picked up a thrashed Venus for $10 at a 'fest... so they ARE out
there at reasonable prices, but there's not many.
I'd recommend anyone buying at Ebay consider Esnipe. It's the only way to
bid! (www.esnipe.com).
I posted on r.r.amateur.misc and some other usenet groups and got quite a
few offers, when I was looking for mine, that might be a avenue to pursue
(of course, use a spamtrap address...hotmail, or yahoo or the like).
Somewhere along the line I found locally, an HBR-kit (it's on Kees'
wonderful HBR page), and I'll likely put that together soon. The local who
sold it to me, said it had some intermittants, so he TOOK IT ALL APART! I
found the original owners call etched in the chassis and tracked him down.
I got the history of the piece (which to me is a fascinating part of this
old stuff) along with some correspondence with Ted and other stuff. It'll
make for a fun project, but I'm sure I'll need the collective help of the
group here.
So many projects, so little time! I'm currently rebuilding my SX9
(restuffing poly caps inside the old paper cases etc) and getting ready to
finally put my tower back up. It's been 6 yrs since I've moved from NM to
NC, and it'll sure
be nice to have the tribander back up.
