Some one was asking about construction projects. While my
project is not exactly HBR, it may interest some as it will be
used with an HBR13 for an all homebrew station.
I have completed about 75% of a home brew transmitter project
which origionally appeared in the seventeenth edition of Orr's
Radio Handbook (p 674). I have copied it quite faithfully with
some modifications and now I am at the testing stage. I am
encouraged by the fact it is working up to the final stage.
The finals as origionally used are too rich for my blood so I
have replaced them with a single 6146 making use of a
multiband matching system, eliminating band switching in this
section. The plans are to drive my 20 year pr 811's with it.
I have opted to use a HP23 power supply rather than the version
described.
A VOX system and CW side tone have been added. A different VFO
has been used in order to take advantage of the supply of old
command set parts. The 6C4, crystal oscillator, has been
replaced with a 6CB6.
Other than all that it is completely origional. Hi.
I would be pleased to provide a picture or two any one
interested.
