Yep, you should have picked up the $10 scope if it worked, but
there are usually plenty of older ones which show up at swapmeets
at reasonable prices. Make sure you have a good DVM or VTVM.
There is a little yellow DVM at Harbor Freight for less than $10
which works fine.

Hole punches are difficult to find, especially Greenlee which people
are very proud of, according to the prices they ask. Lafayette also
sold a set of perfectly good (for aluminum) punches in a small
carrying case which should be much less expensive. With all the
coil winders showing up on e-Bay, you would think there would be
some cheaper chassis punch sets.

I think I've gotten two people in the Williamson county ARC started
on building a HBR Receiver with 85Khz IFs, etc. I also have a
Boonton 160-A Q meter for parts ...good power transformer, lots
of spring loaded no backlash gears on 1/4" shafts, etc. if anyone
thinks they can use soem parts.

Hello All,

Bill Hopkins here, AA2YV in Rochester NY. I have been collecting some
parts from several of you over the last two years. Since I teach during
the winter, my only time to build is in the summer. I hope to begin
working on the rig this summer. That means I will be sending out lots of
SOS's to you as I go. My trouble will be that I do not have much test
equipment to test out certain circuits as I build them. I would love to
have an oscilliscope. I saw one at the Buffalo hamfest last week for 10
dollars. It went only up to 5 MhZ. Guess I should have picked it up
anyway.
What I will need is a set of hole cutting tools. Where could I get some
that would not cost me an arm and a leg?

73's bill
