The quick outline I have for setting up my CDROM was to have all the
documents in .jpg. With a little HTML formatting a nice setup could be done.

And most important is that any one with a browser (any graphic browser new or
older versions would have no problem viewing it. One thing to keep in mind
is the end-user. Quite a few people on this planet still use DOS and many
amateurs use Linux (like myself). Properly scanned and setup good images
should result. I was thinking of getting Adobe but I used the money to buy
an Elecraft K2 which I'm putting together now. Ergo, developement on my
CDROM has stopped for the time being.

The one item which is important in a machine which you're going to be doing a
lot of graphics work is buy alot of memory. 512 Meg is a good starting
point, along with a good graphics card, something like an Nvidia Gforce 2 at
least. Speed of the cpu is important but not everything. I run a 7 year old
dual processor 200 Mhz Pentium Pro with 1 Gig of Ram and the processing time
is only a couple of seconds slower than my friends 1.7 Ghz wiz-bang running
the same programs.

Right now all my images are a hodge-podge of .gif, tiff, jpg, and bmp. I was
trying out all of them to see if one was really better than another. It all
boils down to how the original scan was done.

Anyhow I have to get back to soldering up my K2.
I didn't think there were that many people that would want (or I thought had)
all this documentation.
So Kees if you want to start a documentation comittee count me in. (After I
finish my K2)

Helm. WB2ADT
