Dear amigo:
Congratulations on your efforts to compile
so many useful things on the CD about the
HBR Home Brew Receiver series.
I was the proud owner of a HBR-14, that
unfortunately is no longer with me, as it was
lost during a move many years ago.
It had Millen or Miller IF transformers of 100 kHz
( can't remember the right spelling after so many
years ) that were padded to 75 kHz. The first
IF was 1600 kHz with the IF transformer
wound on a cylinder made of plexiglass.
The 1600 kHz IF worked with a 1675 kHz
crystal for conversion...
What a nice radio !!!
Had coils on 5 prong 807 tube type forms for
40,20 and 15 meters, that had APC trimmers
inside...
Do you recognize that particular model of the
HBR ???
I definetely want to build a replica !!!
BTW, could you kindly list the contents of the
CD, as many of my show's listeners are
enthusiastic homebrewers of nostalgia and
vacuum tube gear and they may want to know
about the HBR series history, that is in my
opinion a very interesting aspect of the
history of amateur radio .
