Thank you all for attending today's meeting, we made significant progress
on our Breadboard Arduino project. For those of you who are interested in
building or completing the project at home before the next meeting, I have
some links for you. The build today is based on two different tutorials.
One tutorial is "Setting Up An Arduino On a Breadboard," and the other
tutorial is "Perfboard Arduino."

https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Standalone

https://www.instructables.com/id/Perfboard-Hackduino-Arduino-compatible-circuit/

I suggest you read through both tutorials. If you are looking for a
schematic, the second link above will have it.

For the July meeting, you will need a laptop with a recent version of
Windows, Linux, or Mac OS (depending on your computer). If you do not have
a laptop to bring, I will be happy to use mine. You also need an FTDI USB
TTL Serial adapter. I suggest you get one from a reliable source that you
trust, such as Solarbotics.com, Adafruit.com, Sparkfun.com, Digi Key, or
Mouser. I would stay away from eBay or Amazon, and the reason is not so
much the chip but more the driver software for your operating system.

Here is one from Adafruit for about $18:

Here is a list at FTDI boards at Sparkfun. If you get a breakout board,
you will need a female socket header to match the probramming pins (6) on
our breadboard project, and you will need a corresponding USB cable.
Generally, the breakout boards are cheaper:

Remeber, our project will not work until we install the boot loader and our
program next month.
