Also remember that the Pi is not like an Arduino, tied to one 
programming language.  Since its a full blown Linux system, you can 
program it in nearly any language.  C, C++, Perl, whatever you want.  If 
the language has ever existed, chances are very good you'll find a Linux 
compiler or interpreter for it.
