Well, let's see here . . . they gave up top tier DNS registration and
administration to foreign entities, but they now have the gas pedal, brake
pedal and steering wheel for Internet traffic in the U.S.  Yes they gave up
some fees, but they gained massive control.

I think it's time to look into packet and APRS.
