To ALL,
I did order the 1 Watter transceiver kit, and I suggest you do it soon, if you are interested. Keep in mind it it has a few surface mount parts and several toroids to do, but as a group, we can help!
For those interested in the inexpensive color Oscilloscope kit I am featuring in my September article, there is now a version of it with all of its surface mount parts premounted, saving lots of time. Here is the link for it:

Its only 24 bucks..a real bargain!
I still have a few of the $4 Chinese Pixie 2 kits...I'll bring them to the next meeting. Also, I will bring a list of some other Chinese kits that Are in the $4 range, like station clocks, etc.

Subject: [HBQRP] HBQRP meeting summary

OK, here is a quick summary from the July HBQRP meeting, other folks can add their comments if they so choose. By my count (ran out of fingers), we had 10 people show and all had a great time.

There was some discussion about the soon to be released 1watter 20-Meter transceiver by Diz “Toroid King” at Kitsandparts.com. Right now, looks like shipping is scheduled for late August.

We also discussed building some “blocks” with the end goal of building a working transceiver. For starters, we are looking at a NE602/612 based receiver with an audio filter/amp. I will work on building a working example to demonstrate at the September or October meeting. A currently available filter/amp is the 4SQRP Hi-Per-Mite CW Filter.

Also, the September meeting is the same day as the Aksarben Ham Fest in Springfield. A suggestion was tossed out to meet a little later so everyone has the opportunity to find some treasures then show them off at our meeting... Just a thought...

73,
