Hi Darrell,

I don't know if you can get appropriate fittings but the plastic 
plumbing parts for sink drains are considerably lighter. Look in that 
section.

Don't seal your plastic container completely air tight. You'll want 
water vapor to be able to exit. Put a weep hole on the bottom of that unit.
