Subject [HBQRP] June meeting - Lark in the Park!!
Hi Group,
Here's a heads up!
The next meeting is the yearly "Lark in the Park", being its just a couple of weeks
ahead of Field day. This is a great time to get your stuff together and do a
trial run of your gear. Better to forget something for the Lark in the park and then be able to correct
the problem so you will be ready for Field day!. So when it rolls around you can
set up like a PRO!
This is a good time to insure all your needed gear is packed away in your go bag.
Do you have all the needed bits to hook up all your stuff and troubleshoot it if you were to run into a problem? Is the power supply system you are going to use ready? charged up,
Things like adapters, cables, interfaces, antenna analyzers, VOM's, SWR meters, power distribution blocks.
Tools like wire cutters, wire strippers, maybe even soldering equipment,
Do you have all the things needed to set up your antenna.. such as tie down stakes for guy lines,
weights and some way to launch them to get a line up in a tree? A hammer to drive the
stakes, or mounting rod for the vertical antenna? How about your logging system? Paper/pencil or
tablets and PC's
Do you have some kind of light so you can work into the evening at your station? Do you have
a fan you would like to use if the heat (or bugs) bother you? A folding table and/or chair?
These are all good things to be able to answer, and the lark in the park can help you decide
what your answer will be!
Plans are to be at the pizza place on time when they open, so food can be ordered and eaten for a timely
departure out to the park. (I am really hoping the wx will go along with this!)
I hope to see a lot of people there! I hope that everyone will bring some stuff to
show, even if you don't set up to operate, This would be a good time to pick up some
handy ideas to use in your own "go kit".
See you there!
