Hi Group,

Found this interesting post on Hack-a-Day...

http://hackaday.com/2014/02/16/rescan-automated-resistor-identification/#more-115038

It uses a PC web cam to read a resistors color code.  It shows it on the screen and also announces
the value via a voice on the PC's speakers.  Check out the vid on how it works...

I think for those of us that having vision issues (glasses) as we get older or have slight problems
with color vision (I need a LOT of light to be able to tell the colors on those little bands apart!)
that this would be very handy.   A lot of laptops have a web cam built in.   I think that
it would be a great way to sort a grab bag pile of resistors for your parts bins.  I have
several box's of various resistors that look like they were swept up off a factory floor to sort...
Just hold the resistor up to the web cam and let it read it out so you can put it in the right bin.

I haven't checked to see if the author has posted it on GitHub yet like it was promised, but will

check on it later this week. I am looking forward to checking it out soon...
