Hi Group,

Well, it was a good turn out at the meeting.   Only Joe was building something today, but it was interesting.
He was working on a KD1JV designed kit from QRPKITS.com called the Survivor.  A 75 meter SSB/CW
rig.   Joe also helped me install and get running SDR# on my WIN8 laptop.  Now I can run my TV dongle
or FunCube dongle to receive just about anything except TV from about 50 MHz to 2GHz.

Now all I have to do is figure out all the settings in the program to make the best use of it!
Would really be cool to use it with a swept signal source as a tracking generator to be able tune
filters and duplexers ect..   I wonder if someone would make a kit for this!  haa haa..

Joe was interested in a bit of software that I was running on my win8 laptop called "classic shell".
It gets rid of the look of win8 and returns you to a win7/XP style desktop with most of the features of the
older (and in my opinion BETTER) user interface.  Classic shell includes classic explorer (Not Internet EXP)
and has many settings you can customize to please your taste in UI looks.

Heres a link to the web page for the software...
